Brianne!! I bet you WILL get into Brussels soon! They are so good – I actually prefer them to kale, they are just slightly more of a pain to cook. Roasted brussels followed by peanut butter ice cream? My ideal meal!

Im SO impressed at you going without dairy for a month Simone! I have tried in the past and never really lasted – but I also think I do well with dairy so Ive sort of stopped trying to force myself now. Did you notice any difference? The Scoop is totally on my ice cream hit list!

Jackie!! I have only just discovered Blue Bottle and it is AMAZING. Im always having a go at Louis for being a snob so I hate that I now totally agree with him about coffee (and also how expensive nice coffee is!! Apparently the worldwide obsession with coffee that took place over the last 10 years – not to mention people getting those little pod espresso machines for their homes – has created a shortage. Thats whats driving prices up!). Anyway, clearly Im the sort of person now who prioritises coffee over a pedicure and probably even over buying food for my dog. (Kidding!). And I think that TJ’s one actually tastes a little like the crap peanut butter… it has that real creaminess and total saltiness and Louis – who also likes Jiff! – thinks it does. Without hydrogenated oils!

Kathleen! Great minds!! ANd I-phones are just the best invention ever.. I’m always weirdly resistant to technology (I had a walkman in like 2004) so I was a bit late to the I phone party, but now Im just obsessed. It makes it no longer matter if people are late (even better for me because Im usually the one who IS late…)

Sally Anne – Once the little apple stall at our local market was closed and I totally freaked out and left the whole market completely forgetting to buy the entire decadent (and possibly Valentines or something..!?) breakfast that I had promised Louis – so terrible! And yes – you must try this PB … its so yummy and I just love the extra crunch. You could also have it…. ON APPLES!
I’m not sure about plantains though you know – Ive had a few times and was a bit underwhelmed… maybe I need to give them another shot… where do you buy them? I am however SO with you on the guacamole. I eat it on sardines!! xx

Katie!! Great to hear from you and thanks so much for the recipe – I NEED to try. I don’t own Tender but I desperately want to… Nigel can do practically no wrong (we did cook a very dubious star anise chicken soup of his once, which was HORRIBLE. If you see the recipe AVOID). I also love him because his portions are always insane style huge. I can eat a lot, so I always feel extremely lady like when I have to divide his portion recommendations into quarters.. for his Eggs Benedict recipe I remember he allowed about 2 muffins per person, 2 – 3 eggs and about 1/2 cup of hollandaise sauce!!

Elleen! Well I’ve only been eating 20 a week since arriving here… normally in ENgland I’m okay with one (maybe two) per day. Although I do have to buy them individually there (which I do on a daily basis and helps to keep numbers under control). My blue bottle is currently brewing…
